Old Shirt Tote Bag workshop with KPCouturéKP Couture
Book now for the Old Shirt Tote Bag workshop with KPCouturé at Braw Wee Emporium in Glasgow’s East End. Have you got an old shirt that needs a new lease of life? Do you want to learn basic sewing skills? This workshop will guide you through the simple process of transforming your tired clothes into a functional tote bag!
This 2 ½ hour workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced sewing enthusiasts alike. You will be introduced to the basics of using a sewing machine, learn skills to upcycle an existing garment and be led through to produce a finished bag to take home by the send of the session.
Just bring yourself and your old shirt, and we’ll provide the rest! (We can also provide a shirt for you if you prefer!)
KPCouturé is a fashion and accessories brand set up with the aim to stimulate conversation on sustainable fashion. We take waste plastic and textiles from Kinning Park Complex's swap shop and community café and turn it into unique jewellery and clothes. We also hold free-to-attend community-based events and workshops to promote a better understanding of sustainability issues in a wider audience. The profits from this workshop will help us to keep this work going.
