Mogwai - Come on Die Young

With an album cover giving props to The Exorcist and a title taken from a well known Glasgow gang slogan, Mogwai raised the bar still further with their second album. Recorded and mixed at Dave Fridmann's Tarbox Studios in Upstate New York, Come On Die Young is a surprisingly restrained offering following the sporadic aural fireworks that peppered Young Team. Kicking off with a sample of Iggy Pop ruminating on the artistic genius that fuels punk rock, the album goes on to disassemble everyone's preconceptions of what a Mogwai album might be, cementing the band's reputation as masters of their art in the process.
